OVERVIEW



The Auckland rowing Club was established in 1869 and is located in the suburb of Mt. Wellington in Auckland, New Zealand. The club has been through a total of six location changes and the club's present site is at Ian Shaw Park, at the Flat Rock area on the Tamaki River.

The Club is made up of around 250 members, including approximately 100 affiliated through Epsom Girls Grammar School, Sacred Heart College, and Diocesan School for Girls. Both male and female members participate at all levels from U15 and novice through to masters, in both sculling and sweep oar events throughout the rowing calendar. The club also hosts rowers from overseas visiting New Zealand, corporate rowers, university rowers

The Club is the fifth oldest in New Zealand and has a proud history of both on and off the water performances to match. Success throughout the clubs lifetime can be measured through the large amount of National Titles won and the number of Successful international representatives.

MEN'S SQUAD
The ARC Men's Squad compete at Club, U19, U21, Senior and Premier Grades at the New Zealand Rowing Championships. The club has competitive club, senior and premier squads as well as social school leaver crews. ARC athletes are also involved in the Regional Performance Centers and in the New Zealand Squad.


WOMEN'S SQUAD
The Women's Squad at ARC has a large number of athletes who compete at the Club, U19, U21 and Senior grades.


NOVICE SQUAD
The Novice squad involves both male and female athletes and is an excellent way to get into rowing. With a programme suited to all individuals the novice squad is a great way to get fit and meet new friends in a great social environment.


MASTERS SQUAD
Masters rowing at ARC is a great way to keep active, participate in an awesome social environment as well as the option of competing competitively at Masters level.


AFFILIATED SCHOOLS
The club has three affiliated schools - Diocesan School for Girls, Epsom Girls Grammar and Sacred Heart College. Members of these schools compete in ARC colours for the club based regattas and are involved in club activities.
